MAC in Rhodes!!

Well i never... we took a drive upto Rhodes Town for the day to see what was there, walked along the high street and what did i see.. MAC?!? FTW!

One thing i would never have expected over here, not to suggest greek women wouldn't use such a wicked brand but c'mon! I was in shock anyhow :)

Even better was the fact i'd lost my Smoulder eyeliner (horror!) somewhere within the last two weeks and had resorted to using my not-so-favourite Jemma Kidd pencil. So i wandered straight in and purchased a new one for 13 euros. Yay! Totally made my day!

Postcard from Rhodes!

Hi everyone, i'm currently sunning it up in lovely Rhodes so i thought i'd share a few holiday snaps with you all :)

These are from Sunday morning, we woke up at 6am for some odd reason but were just in time to witness a beautiful sunrise..

And this is the view from my sunbed!

Holidaaay! and top 5 products

Finally off on holiday on Saturday, to Rhodes, so i will be posting a few photos whilst i'm over there! Shock horror i've used sunbeds again this week, i vowed never to use them again... but I needed to get my skin ready, i.e clear and a little bit tanned. I promise not to use them once i'm back!
Kinda leads me into which fake tan i currently use, and I suppose my current Top 5 Products!!

1. And definitely the top of the list, St Tropez Wipped Bronze self tan mousse. I swear by this stuff! I put it on with a mitt, takes about 5-10 minutes to dry and produces a lovely all over golden glow, i've never gone orange (touch wood!)

2. Lancome Hypnose Mascara in Black. I can't big up this mascara enough, thanks to a lovely recommendation on here i've been introduced to it. Makes my lashes so long everyones been asking me if i'm wearing false ones :) Only bad thing is i use so much it runs out within a few weeks whoops..

3. 212 Sexy by Carolina Herrera. My fav perfume at the moment, it reminds me of warm sweet scented summer evenings, perfect for this time of year!

4. Benefit 10. My current bronzer/highlighter of choice. It has two sides, a lovely pinky bronzer with goldy flecks in it and a pink shimmery higher. Perfect match for my skin and looks good with any eye colour.

5. Sexed up Shampoo by Tigi Catwalk. I've spent the last year applying Oatmeal and Honey shampoo by Tigi to get my hair back into a decent condition (i used to be blonde and it totally wrecked my hair) but recently i've felt its a bit flat so decided to try something new. This product is ace for adding a bit of UMPH whilst blow drying and my hair is shiny and full of life. A definite repurchase!!
What are your fav's? x

Motel Rocks!

My appologies for not posting for a few weeks, its been a bit stressful at work! I've got a few things to blog about so I'll try and get them all in this week :)
So anyway.. Not sure how many of you have heard of this brand, but i personally love it. Their designs are based on retro patterns teamed with cool modern dress designs. I've bought two dresses from there so far:

The Lily Dress, £45 just bought this one, its so cute!

The Patsy dress, £45, (picture took before a night out lol)

This is no advert! I just love this brand and most people i've met have never heard of them! The only problem i've found with them is they don't give refunds, only credit note/exchanges... But with dresses like these who needs a refund!!

On another note, I ♥ Spring!

I need your help!!

Please help!!
I'm going on holiday in like 3/4 weeks and i've just had a massive break out of spots!! its sorta made me stop and rethink my skin car regime... I've used the same stuff for agggges, pretty much the entire neutrogena oily skin range. Its not working!!! I am so merticulous with it yet my skin is just terrible, please if you have any recommendations let me know, baring in mind i have combination skin!!!

Very much appreciated, Love (a rather spotty) Jenna x

Scandal!!

Well i feel totally robbed! Thanks to a great recommendation I now swear by Lancome Hypnose, I lurrrrve this mascara and its perfect for me. Unfortunately i have a bad habit of running out of mascara quickly, too many layers lol! So I decided to order one off ebay because it was retailing at £11.50 (normally they cost like £19?) and free postage from 100% seller.

Bargin right?

WRONG!

When it came it seemed heavier.. and after looking at it, its clearly a fake!! :(

See look at the obvious differences

The top wand is the real thing, you can see the difference straight away!

On the left, the real deal... actually has a sticker on it!!!

So be careful ladies, if you buy discount products check them over and make sure they're genuine, luckily enough the woman I bought from gave me a full refund but next time it might not be the same!

My makeup bag

Sorry for the lack of posts this week... works been a bit manic and when i do finally get home at night I tend to collapse in front of the t.v and wind down to mindless comedy like Friends :)

Also I haven't actually bought anything new for a week (see above!) but as I'm going out on friday I've been hunting round the internet for something new and ordered a few goodies which are being delivered today, i'll blog about them later and try and actually take a photo wearing them as apose to on a hanger. They never look as good that way!

So anyway, I got into work today and thought i'd share with you the contents of my everyday makeup bag. Now this is the one i carry around in my handbag, the reason the contents are so vast for an everyday bag is because I spend every weekend at my boyfriends house which is about 45 minutes away, and don't come home from Friday night to when i go to work on Monday morning, so i have to have makeup to cover any situation always with me! I'm sure a few of you may understand ;) I kinda like it though, its like going away for the weekend... every weekend!

Here it is, badly arranged on my desk!
Back Row left to right:

♥ Urban Decay Primer Potion ♥ Studio Fix Fluid NC30 ♥ Please Me Lipstick ♥ Myth Lipstick ♥ Pretty Plush Gloss ♥ 182 Brush ♥ Nice Buzz Plushglass ♥ High Beam ♥ YSL Faux Cils ♥ Underage Lipglass ♥ Studio Stick concealer NC45 ♥ Lancome Hypnose ♥ HIP Kohl eyeliner ♥ Gosh Darling ♥ Benefit 10

Front (minus all the eyeshadows and brushes as i'll show these seperately!):

♥ 129 Brush ♥ Pink Swoon blush ♥ Peachy Keen Blush ♥ Blacktrack Fluidline ♥ Guerlian lip pencil in 00 ♥ i.lash heated eye curler ♥ Matt Bronze bronzing powder ♥ Beurre lipliner ♥ Lingering brow pencil ♥ Rimmel brow pencil in 001 ♥ Jemma Kidd eyeliner in 03 pitch ♥ pink make up mirror

And then onto the brushes, I don't actually know why i carry all of these, the rest are at home in my main makeup holder!

Left to right:

209, 293? (the number has kinda rubbed off), 219, 224 and 217

Last but not least, some of my MAC eyeshadows

Left to right:

♥ Espresso ♥ All that glitters ♥ Mulch ♥ Shroom ♥ Beauty Marked ♥ Carbon, ♥ Shale ♥ Sketch ♥ Tempting

So there you have it, my dirty secret! What makeup do you always carry around with you?

Shopping in the sunshine!

I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine on Saturday as much as i did! It made shopping so much more fun!! I ended up driving to two different cities and browsing both, but the weather made it great especially Nottingham which is lovely in the sunshine.
I only really went to Nottingham for MAC, and only went to MAC for Loverock Grandduo, and shockingly they were out of stock!! Was rather gutted but made up for it by purchasing two eyeshadows and an eyebrow pencil.

Left to right: Shale, Beauty Marked, Lingering eyebrow pencil

How lovely is beauty marked! I've got a similar colour in my Coastal Scents Neutral Palette but its not quite as pigmented as this one :) Really pleased!! As for the pencil, well i've needed one for ages and it was something i always forgot to get. I was helped out by the lovely 'male' MAC assistant and he pointed out i needed it slightly lighter than my natural colour so i'm gonna try it out and if not go back for another one.

On another MAC note, the assistant gave me a sample of NW25 Studio fix fluid to try because i'd found my normal NC30 was a bit yellow in the winter, just to try obviously, i'll stick to the usual otherwise!
I then ventured to Superdrug, following on from my previous comment about paying more attention to my nails... and bought these lovely two new varnishes from GOSH

Left: Wild Lilac, Right: Pink Rose

Two gorgeous colours, i especially like the Wild Lilac, i'm really feeling pastel colours and both of these are just perfect :) I haven't got time to do my nails tonight but i can't wait to try them tomorrow.

And lastly i was drawn to Topshop, i'm absolutely loving the new spring stuff they're bringing out, its so fresh and light. I wore these out at the weekend and it just made me feel that little bit more summery!

Light Beige top £28, with cream sequins & silk panels

White cotton top £22, lovely round neckline, perfect for summer

Pink pumps with gold detail, £25

I'm really looking forward to summer, what spring/summer things have you bought recently? Oh and thanks very much to Vicki for recommending a new mascara, Lancome Hypnose, i love it!!! That teamed with my Enormous Lash treatment has created these crazy long lashes, people think i'm constantly wearing fake lashes, honestly if you have the money try it, it really works!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ENORMOUS-LASH-EYELASH-ENHANCING-SERUM-ONLY-U-K-SELLER_W0QQitemZ250393848592QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Health_Beauty_Make_Up_Cosmetics_Mascara_PP?hash=item250393848592&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Try that seller, thats who i bought it off, i think full price its about $95 but thats for the new formula, and i've read a few reviews about the new formula and they aren't great, at least the one on ebay is the orignal formula. Add it to your wishlist! :)

The makeup diaries: Significant others Tag!

Just a tag about significant others!

My other half is called James, hes lurrvley, a pain the the backside at times but he makes me laugh :) He likes to work out, bodybuilder type but its only a hobby!

Fun Clothes Haul

Well recently i went to an Ann Summer party which i haven't done for about 4 years and bought a few cute things, nothing raunchy obviously!!

This is a cute vest top and knickers pj set with matching knee length socks, its lovely on aswell. To be honest i saw the socks first and they totally won me over!

I liked the look of this in the book, although the model was very tall and slim, so when it arrived i realised its alot longer than i first thought. Its more nightdress than chemise, still nice though!

I also bought three dresses at the weekend, one daytime and two going out dresses, sorry if the photos are a bit crap i'm still working on that new cam!

This dress is from Topshop, this is the day-ish dress :) I've worn it with a creme scalf and ugg boots so far!

This dress i ordered from ASOS.com, not tried it on yet so fingers crossed it looks good, bought it for a big night out next Friday. Struggling to think of what colour accessories to wear with it... hmm... any help?

And last but not least another Topshop beauty, i actually wore this out at the weekend, its so classic but gorgeous on. You can't really see from the photos but the top half is really silky and quite shiny, below is a photo of me in it!

Nail vanish mini haul

So i've been lacking in the nail department care recently, its proper took a backseat in my beauty regime! So i decided to buy a few new colours on Friday.

I went to Superdrug and picked out these 3..

Spring Green, Magneta Magic and Coralicious

I've got the coralicious one on today, i was really excited to try it on, i'm taking it off tomorrow though and trying the green. (Purely out of boredem though, i've been roped into babysitting which i swear should be an illegal request after you turn 22!)

Heres the photo of Coralicious

I appologise for the poor lighting! On another note, my enormous lash seems to have just decided to start working, my lashes are soooooo long now! I'd definately recommend it, just takes a few months to start taking effect i think :)

Much love xx

Pretty new things

God that was a long day!
The only good thing was coming home to some lovely pretty things :)
My mini MAC order was here, now i've taken some photos, and tried using both my phone (Sony Ericsson C902) and my Camera, and both have come out, well crap! Please please if you know of a good camera that doesn't blurr if you get within like a mile of your subject then let me know its really frustrating!!!
What i bought:

* Two new eyeshadows, i'm definately a neutrals girl, so i purchased Mulch and Espresso:

The one on the right is Espresso and the one on the right is Mulch. Mulch is a really pretty dark bronze colour with little gold flecks, i'm going to try a look with it later so if it comes out ok i'll post a photo! Espresso is a lovely dark chocolate brown.

* Benefit 10 - a lovely pink blush/highligher and a bronzer in one pot. I heard about this and wanted to try it out so fingers crossed it looks good.

P.s i'm not using that brush, i hate little flat brushes!!!

* MAC Plushglass in Nice Buzz, this is a lovely colour, i took a bit of a chance really with it because you can never tell what colour its going to be by the website, MAC swatches are rubbbish.

Its got a bronzey, goldy look but is quite sheer in colour on the lips. As always with the plushglasses its very sticky but i like that!

* Studio Stick Concealer in NC45, yes very very dark i know but its more for drastic contouring for a night out, the next one down doesn't quite do the trick :) (Plus i'm very olive skinned and hate it!) I've not posted a photo as none came out ok.

The other thing i wanted to write about was my Enormous Lash i bought about a month ago, i've been using it religiously and i can honestly see the difference in my lashes. They aren't like some claim and sweeping sunglasses and eyebrows etc, but they are definately darker and longer. Just wish they were thicker! Again i took a photo with my camera when i first started but its so damn blurred theres no point posting it!! So again, any suggestions for a good camera would be great :)

Have a great night xxxx

Boring Saturday afternoons...

Hi again, well since i'm really bored i thought i'd blog again. I'm slightly annoyed actually as my boyfriend came in from work at 2pm really grumpy and has gone straight to bed.... hence being bored.

I've got The Devil Wears Prada on in the background, i love that film, i read the book first actually, soooo much better!

Anyway, just thinking of things i bought recently, (one of those needs to be a new camera so i can take photos of all these things i buy!).. I finally got hold of the 182 brush, the little kabuki and it came the other day, oh my god i'm in love! Its so soft and is making my blush look lovely and blended.

I really want one of the new MAC grand duos, Loverock looks the best, but as my nearest MAC is about a 20 minute drive and an extortionate parking charge away, i generally build up an extensive list of things to buy before i travel there.

Theres a few things i want actually, one of which being Bare Study paint pot, and the whole Hello Kitty range... i think i'm one of the few people who doesn't like much of it, well the eyeshadows anyway... i'm not a fan of bright outrageous colours. Or maybe i'm just scared of using them lol

I'm after a new mascara if anyone has any ideas on a non drug store one, i'm not a fan of drugstore mascaras as i feel they make my lashes too spidery and i've tried LOADS of different ones. My fav atm is YSL Faux cils but it dries up so fast that i need to replace it about once a month and its becoming rather expensive!!!

Just to mention Kandee Johnson, i love following her videos on youtube, she sounds so sweet and nice its a breath of fresh air plus i've got loads of great tips so thanks Kandee!

Speak soon, Jenna xxx

Monday 16 February 2009

The postman must hate me!

So when i got home tonight i had a few little beauties waiting for me, i've been ebaying way to much recently! I much prefer to have things delivered to my work so i can have a play with it at my desk but unfortunately ebay things have to be sent home...

Two things that were waiting on my doorstep:

* MAC Tan pigment - WOW its absolutely gorgeous, i love the fact its really coppery coloured, with having green eyes it should really make them pop, can't wait to play around with it later

* MAC Antique Gold glitter - i've been wanting this for ages, it was originally for a night out that was more glam than social drink, but the auction didn't end in time :( Looking forward to using it though, although i've been warned about the potential glitter fallout.

I also had a few things waiting for me at work this morning, those that weren't bought from ebay :)

* St Tropez Whipped Bronzer - Saw this on a Youtube via by Kandee Johnson, she swore by it so thought i'd give it a go.

Let me just point out how harsh winter is! I've sworn off sunbeds for about a year now trying to keep my skin as healthy as poss, but having pale olive skin is just the worst :( So i'm praying this added with body butter will solve my problem!

And the other thing was Aqua Flash Bronzer, recommended by Lollipop26, i've been searching for a new facial bronzer/tanner to try for a few months. The last one i used were Garnier facial tanning wipes but i always ended up with a line somewhere on my face. (And it didn't sit well in my pores) So fingers crossed!!

Lastly... I'm soooo excited, my favourite book has been made into film.. Confessions of a Shopaholic (published as Secret Diary of a Shopaholic) and the following books are just incredibly written. Very close to my heart, as i wasn't too dissimilar to Beccy Bloomwood myself a few years ago, i do love to shop and spent a little too much money!! I'm going to try and drag my partner to see it with me... he doesn't know this yet!

If anyone else has read the book please let me know what you thought :)

xXx

My First Ramble

Well this is the first time i've blogged, i used to write in a diary as a kid, i guess this is just bringing that into the 21st century.. i knew about this site after reading Lollipop26's page, as shes as much or even more so into make up just as much as me.

I think this is more a case of i'm going to document all the makeup i buy etc, so i can look back and go... OH MY GOD! :)

Makeup bought last week:

* Stila Kitten, lovely liquid version, although i'm not sure its working too well on my lids, maybe its the primer?

* Mac Shroom, luuuurvly! I'm currently using it as a highligher with the angled blusher brush (haven't got my bag near my for brush numbers!)

* Mac Antiqued, trying to mix this up with Mac Shell creamblush underneath it, it looks really pretty

* Mac Please me lipstick, hmmm not sure about this yet, it looked good with Mac Underage on top but very very bright and didn't last all that long... maybe it'll grow on me nearer spring :)

Thats it for now, i've ordered a few new things from ebay, so as soon as they come i'll ramble about those to

xXx
